Anyone fancy sending short note to Cameron? Dave B.

FROM BDF
For donkey’s years, I’ve been saying that the most effective way of leaving the EU would be to repeal the 1972 European Communities Act. Then I join UKIP, and blow me!; not only is the great John Knotts (Chairman: Stourbridge) saying it, but Iain Milne of Civitas said it in the “Britain on the Brink” DVD.

The only problem being, that it would require a Commons majority to pass any proposed Bill.

Well, have a look at what we have here! Eurosceptic MP Philip Hollobone (Con., Kettering) has not only introduced a Bill to repeal the Act, but it is up for its Second Reading on 20th January! Yes, OK, it’s a Private Member’s Bill (PMB), and as such has virtually no realistic chance of becoming law, but…… David Steel’s Abortion Bill (1967) made it!

So, I have a cunning plan! Everybody in the UK writes to their MP, asking them to support this PMB! Even better than a rigged referendum! As long as it doesn’t get a sunset clause – or worse – guillotined

But one thing puzzles me: For a few years, I have been on the mailing list of the Parliament clerks, and I get a weekly bulletin of Lords and Commons activities. NONE of them contain news of this Bill, which had its First Reading in JULY, I’ve checked! What’s with that?
