Hi Malcolm I spent Saturday in NYC along with thousands of other people….the 99%…who have had enough and want change, real change, radical change…no more business as usual. Wall Street itself was like a militarized zone eventhough it was a Saturday afternoon and mostly tourists. We marched past in a large group and set up our peoples’ ecampment down the street in a small park.

Hi Malcolm
I spent Saturday in NYC along with thousands of other people….the 99%…who have had enough and want change, real change, radical change…no more business as usual.  Wall Street itself was like a militarized zone eventhough it was a Saturday afternoon and mostly tourists.  We marched past in a large group and set up our peoples’ ecampment down the street in a small park.  We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in groups, talking and formulating our agenda and our demands.  It was true democracy in action…no leaders, no followers.  Everyone had a turn to speak and voice their concerns, their anger, their vision of a better future. As night fell the group decided to stay the night in the park.  There was concern the police would clear us out but that didn’t happen.  We won the occupation for the night….with plans to regroup, resume and grow larger today.
The police presence was massive.  One officer told protester that the entire force of NYC was centered on that one small park in the financial district of Manhattan.  We were peaceful and respectful.  How will the police react tonight knowing that the group plans on “taking Wall St. tomorrow morning….and disrupting trading.”
More tomorrow.
Struggle on
