Owen Jones is fast becoming my hero of the left. Its the kind of political engagement and debate I want from someone who represents me. If you have not seen last nights Question Time, Watch It! He was impassioned and accurate on Gaza and made a very important interjection against Ian Duncan Smith on welfare. As usual on the BBC the
debate was edited and closed down by Dimbleby, and a disabled protestor walked out of the show. What this government is doing to the sick and disabled is a crime, a crime that, sadly, is enabled by what seems to a conspiracy of silence by Britains media. Over 1600 people dead after being found fit to work by the sham tests carried out by Atos and thousands of others of Britains sickest and most vulnerable put through hell. All in response to the lie that is promulgated by media that those on benefits are scroungers and are choosing the lifestyle. In case you did not know, most benefits are paid to those in work. 100 of millions lost to benefit fraud, Many BILLIONS lost to tax avoidance. A just society should be concentrating on that. The demonisation of those on welfare is the great shame of today’s Britain.
