PURTON TODAY – John Papworth

An independent journal seeking to relate village affairs to the global crisis and the crisis to the village

==============

Editorial
THE MODERN    WORLD
Too much official thinking is based on assumptions
that government is better when it is
bigger, when in fact the bigger the size the more
difficult to achieve popular control or even popular
quality.
So much of official thinking assumes the bigger
the better when in fact the evidence is overwhelming
that as things get bigger they decline in
quality, are more difficult to control and produce
anti-social consequences.
